Center for Research and Development of Advanced Marine Pharmaceutical Formulations is jointly established by Function Technology and the School of Pharmacy of Qingdao University. The center is committed to the in-depth research and development of marine polymer materials and marine phospholipid microsphere drug delivery platforms. Through cutting-edge technologies, it has significantly improved the bioavailability of poorly soluble drugs and active nutrients, opening up a new development pathways for the pharmaceutical and health food industries. Relying on the robust scientific research resources of the School of Pharmacy of Qingdao University and Dean Sun Yong's extensive experience in project transformation, the center not only focuses on basic research, but also emphasizes the rapid implementation and commercial application of outcomes. It injects strong impetus into the continuous innovation of marine pharmaceutical formulation technology and the vigorous growth of the health industry.

Adhering to the national blue ocean strategy, Function Technology explores new pathways that integrate marine resource development and innovative R&D, and has established the Function Oceania Medical Nutrition Research Center in Auckland, the economic, cultural, shipping, and tourism hub of New Zealand. The center will carry out research, development, and comprehensive utilization of marine active substances represented by marine phospholipids. It will develop marine pharmaceutical and clinical nutrition products, conduct clinical trials, and leverage New Zealand's pristine, pollution-free natural resources and globally leading R&D processes to continuously explore and discover high-quality medical nutrition products rich in natural essences. This will provide users with truly genuine, high-quality, and cost-effective high-tech nutritional health products.

The German Medical Nutrition R&D Center is a crucial part of Function Technology's global ecological layout for medical nutrition. The center takes "Medical Nutrition and Technology for Health" as its innovation and R&D direction. Led by renowned international medical experts and relying on Germany's leading scientific research strength and R&D resources, it gives full play to Germany's technological advantages to build an internationally influential medical nutrition and health product R&D center and innovation platform. It promotes the development of innovative products in the fields of life health and medical nutrition, deeply empowerment VIK, an international brand under Function Technology, and seizes cutting-edge technologies in medical nutrition. The core mission of the center is to integrate Germany's cutting-edge technological strength, focus on health product development, and promote life science exploration. Leveraging Germany's world-leading pharmaceutical and technological R&D resources, the center facilitates the transformation of research results, provides global consumers with medical nutrition and health products originating in Germany, and thus offers a high-quality healthy life for users worldwide.

The Chronic Disease Medical Nutrition R&D Center is co-founded by Function Technology and Qingdao University. The center will be dedicated to research on the intervention of non-communicable chronic diseases with medical nutrition therapy (MNT). Based on evidence-based medicine, it will develop scientific and professional nutrition and health products to meet the needs of populations with chronic diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia and hyperglycemia, and sub-healthy conditions for treatment, rehabilitation, and maintenance of bodily functions. Professor Li Duo, Chief Professor and Executive Vice Dean of the Institute of Nutrition and Health of Qingdao University, has been engaged as the director of the center. The main research direction is food nutrition. The research contents include nutritional epidemiology, food components, health food, functions (anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-hypertensive, anti-tumor, lipid-lowering, blood glucose-lowering, etc.) of functional foods, and safety evaluation. The establishment of this center and the engagement of Professor Li Duo will further consolidate Function Technology's scientific research strength in the comprehensive health industry, promote technological innovation and industrial development of krill oil, and fulfill the social responsibility of krill oil nutritional applications.

The Joint R&D Center for High-Value Utilization of Antarctic Krill Resources is jointly established and operated by Function Technology and the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences. The Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences is a comprehensive marine fisheries research institution under the Ministry of Agriculture, and it is the earliest established comprehensive marine fisheries research institution in China. Both parties will carry out comprehensive industry-university-research cooperation, focusing on the exploration and utilization of functional active substances from Antarctic krill, quality control, establishment of standard systems, and the development of other high-value marine biological products.

The Antarctic Krill Special Functional Food R&D Center is co-built by Function Technology, Qingdao Agricultural University, and the Qingdao Special Food Research Institute. The three parties will collaborate on the "Krill Oil Special Functional Food Project", focusing on the field of "precision nutrition food". The center aims to output comprehensive nutritional demand solutions for composite special functional foods of Antarctic krill to meet the needs of specific populations for enhanced endurance, adaptability, and judgment.

The Marine Phospholipid Pharmaceutical Innovation Joint R&D Center is co-built by Ocean University of China and Function Technology. Ocean University of China, as a national "Double First-Class" Category A university, has significant advantages in the field of marine biomedicine. The center will precisely focus on solving the application challenges of marine phospholipids as APIs and pharmaceutical excipients. It will be committed to building a full-chain technical pathway from basic marine resources to high-end formulations, helping China break the bottleneck in which core lipid materials for high-end formulations such as lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and nano-fat emulsions have long relied on imports.

The Marine Functional Food Innovation Joint R&D Center is co-founded by the Ocean University of China, the Qingdao Institute of Marine Bioresources for Nutrition & Health Innovation, and Function Technology. Anchored in the national marine strategic needs, the center focuses on the high-value utilization of marine biological resources such as Antarctic krill, its core work involves the exploration of bioactive substances including functional lipids and active peptides, as well as the development of high-value products. Through  deep integration of industry, academia, and research, the center has built a full-chain innovation ecosystem of "basic research – technological breakthroughs – industrial implementation", driving China's marine bio-health industry from laboratory research to market-oriented innovation.

The laboratory, jointly established by Function Technology and China Pharmaceutical University, will focus on the in-depth collaborative development of marine active polypeptide drugs. This marks another important breakthrough in the exploration of the medicinal value of Antarctic krill, following their previous collaboration on the development of novel pharmaceutical excipients from krill phospholipids.
