On December 26, 2022, Function's "Transparent Factory" was completed and put into operation in Qingdao, Shandong, making it an advanced transparent factory for krill oil production in China. The factory covers an area of 18,000 square meters and features a Class D GMP clean production workshop.

As an advanced transparent factory for krill oil production in China, it covers an area of 18,000 square meters, with a Class D GMP clean production workshop and strict quality control.

High Efficiency

The factory is equipped with world-leading fully automated production and processing equipment. The first phase can meet the annual production capacity of 400 million softgels and 200,000 boxes of solid beverage products. The second phase will initiate tablet pressing and hard capsule production lines, to support Function's rapid growth with a full range of dosage forms and product categories.

Rigorous quality control

The workshop is equipped with 81 cameras, ensuring full transparency from incoming material inspection to ingredient production to bottling and packaging. Each product has a traceability code, allowing consumers to independently trace the imported raw material variety and country of origin. The entire process is visible and fully traceable.

Function Technology takes Antarctic krill as a breakthrough point, carefully selecting high-quality global resources and making a global layout in raw material supply, product production, warehousing and logistics, aiming to provide users with reliable quality products and convenient supply services. Function Technology has entered into a strategic cooperation with Aker BioMarine, a globally leading supplier of Antarctic krill, selecting high-quality krill oil that meets international standards. It also uses pharmaceutical-grade gelatin from the French gelatin manufacturer Rousselot to make capsule shells, meeting stringent quality and safety standards. It has also established seven major industrial bases in Oslo, Norway; Hamburg, Germany; Auckland, New Zealand; New South Wales, Australia; California, USA; and Taipei and Qingdao, China.

The company is equipped with advanced industry-wide fully automatic high-speed servo softgel machine production lines, solid beverage production lines, and fully automatic digital sol-gel systems. In addition, Function's Transparent Factory also has a fully traceable product information system. It establishes key control points for every control element, including personnel, machines and materials. Through 81 cameras, it monitors the rigor and compliance of the entire process from raw material storage and transportation to production process implementation, thereby ensuring consistent, qualified product quality. Through the product traceability code, the imported raw material variety and country of origin can be traced. "Full transparency and visualization" is achieved in all aspects, including raw material sources, production processes, inspection procedures, equipment and facilities, storage environment and corporate culture.

Function's Transparent Factory successfully passed the joint on-site certification by Alibaba and SGS and won the "Verified Supplier" certificate. SGS is an Alibaba-authorized certification body with a history of over a century, holding high authority in the certification service field, especially food testing.
